Bio:My name is Ashley Lott and I’ve had the honor of working at University City Children’s Center for three years and counting. Before I joined UCCC, I received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri (Mizzou) in 2011. I worked in a couple centers during and after college but it is at UCCC that I have found true significance and meaning in the work that I do with children and their families on a daily basis. For me, teaching is about being present and allowing children to invite me into their worlds and their thinking so then I can create opportunities to help them enhance their thinking and knowledge of the world around them. I have found that some of my most favorite learning experiences with children have happened when they’ve lead the way and I followed along on their journey.

Some of my favorite activities as a teacher include reading silly stories with children, taking photos of them while they are working, creating classroom books, and just laughing with them and being apart of their lives.   I’m very passionate about the work I do here with and for children and it is my biggest hope that each and every child that attends and leaves UCCC understands how valuable they are just because of who they are.
