When you visit University City Children's Center you might have the chance to be greeted by Amy (LUME Early Childhood Specialist) and her therapy dog Molly.
Amy has a background in clinical social work, with a specialization in child, youth, and adolescent mental health. Amy completed several years of post-graduate studies at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute (STLPI). She has more than five years of experience in practice as a psychodynamic psychotherapist with children, adolescents, and adults. Amy completed practicums at the Annie Malone Children and Family Service Center, Epworth Children and Family Services, and was a research assistant at Washington University looking at racial biases in mental health screening tools used in the juvenile justice system.
Amy’s beloved side-kick Molly is a certified Animal Assisted Therapy and PAWS for Reading dog. She has never known a stranger. Molly adores the children at University City Children’ Center; she’s a first-rate colleague for all LUME and UCCC employees.
