Thanksgiving Feast at UCCC

Stephen Zwolak slices turkey for the Thanksgiving FeastWe are planning our annual Thanksgiving Feast for Tuesday, November 23.  Parents are invited to join in our feast from 11:30-12:30 with their child's class.  This become a BIG party and we usually ask for parent volunteers to help with some of the food preperation.  Desiree can use two volunteers from 9:00am to 11:00am.  Please check with the front desk if you are interested.

We look forward to celebrations, and the holidays to present a wonderful opportunity.  We do not celebrate with curriculum built just around the calendar, but we do like to honor traditions of all the families in our program.  We believe in the importance of family traditions and holidays in strengthening the connection between home and school.

UCCC is privileged to have families from various heritages and traditions.  We plan activities to reflect the diverse cultures of our families and to foster respect for each other's culture.  Most of our preperations involve children in hands-on-activities.  The children are invited to explore the special objects and foods that reflect different traditions.

We encourage each of you as families to join us in our celebrations.   Even if you cannot be with us, please share your family traditions, recipes for holiday food, and any special items that reflect your heritage and family history.

Watch for an invitation from your child's class for the Thanksgiving celebration and enjoy whatever your holiday plans may be.

UCCC will be closed on Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26.
