Summer Camp and 3-D Art

One of the special things the children at UCCC get to do in our Encyclopedia of Summer is work with artist Gay Lorberbaum from the Washington University School of Architecture.

Daily small groups of children work on building 3-D art pieces. The pieces match the theme of the week, so they just finished their Astronomy art, with upcoming themes of Kinesthetics and St. Louis Architecture.  With each day building upon what they started the day prior, the end results are pretty impressive. Be sure to look around the building to discover what your children have made.

The program is funded by a grant through the Regional Arts Commission and this year we have been able to expand the program and include younger ages, so children from the Big Dippers, Shooting Stars, Super Novas, Super Stars and Horizons are enjoying the special enrichment activities.
